GMR Scoops Double Victory at Haymarket's Brand Event Awards

At the 2012 Brand Event Awards in London, GMR Marketing earned two top trophies for our engagement marketing work with Procter & Gamble during the London 2012 Olympic Games. Congrats to both P&G and to all GMR departments who contributed to the win following a hugely successful summer.

The ceremony, run by Haymarket Publications, honored P&G’s beauty and grooming campaign at this year’s Olympic Games as the Best Sponsorship Event Strategy for the Olympics and Best Cosmetics and Toiletries Event Strategy.

Four P&G salons were set up across London for the duration of the London 2012 Olympic Games, including one within the Athletes Village. The salons ran at 100% capacity and provided over 16,000 treatments to guests free of charge.

This program supported P&G’s Worldwide Olympic Sponsorship campaign—“Proud Sponsor of Moms”—by delivering a first-class beauty and grooming experience for athletes, their families and media during the Olympic Games. Additionally, P&G’s beauty and grooming presence showcased P&G’s professional and retail brands in one place for the first time.

This year’s event, held at Madame Tussauds on November 29, was the second annual Brand Event Awards ceremony. The awards were established by Haymarket’s Marketing and Event magazines to recognize and celebrate the event marketing strategies of some of the globe's biggest brands.
