Stryker // The Mako Experience

Elevating the experience for healthcare

To launch their revolutionary Mako Total Knee Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System, Stryker partnered with GMR to create an unforgettable event that combined product education with experience through the use of immersive technology.

In a matter of 16 hours, GMR fully transformed a city block and six restaurants into an interactive experience unlike any other for more than 2,000 guests.

GMR custom-developed several interactive and entertaining educational experiences that had eager guests waiting in lines, including:

  • Mako robotic surgery demo stations
  • A Virtual Reality experience offering a 360° view of the Stryker facilities
  • A life-size "Operation" game with robotics and precision scoreboard
  • Personalized information kiosks

The event also incorporated a NowPik photo booth—a GMR-developed data capture platform that allowed guests to take and share images from the event, while at the same time allowing Stryker to capture and analyze real-time data.

Let our award-winning team transform your next corporate event into a true brand experience.

Attendees were greeted upon arrival and checked in through GMR’s Orchestrate guest management system. All event interactions were tracked via RFID badge, which allowed Stryker to personalize the event for each guest and follow up with them based on their experiences.

The evening opened the door for long-standing Stryker relationships and sparked high interest from their audience—and competitors—and established the Mako System as a dominant player in the industry.
