GMR supports Google in expansion of women’s sports commitment via NWSL partnership

On February 13, Google, a GMR client, announced a multi-year partnership with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) which elevated the Pixel brand as the Official Mobile Phone of the NWSL.


GMR assisted Google on the deal, expanding the brand's investment in the broader landscape of women's sports following a partnership with the WNBA Changemakers program in 2021.


In a post on Google’s The Keyword blog, Kate Johnson, the brand’s director of partnerships, content, and sports media, detailed how the brand is bringing fans closer to the game via exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to game highlights, teams and players.


“During this multi-year partnership, our Pitchside with Pixel program will use Pixel’s leading AI-powered camera and features to capture content for NWSL’s social media channels, giving fans exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to highlights and an intimate glimpse into players’ experiences on and off the field.


“And as the Presenting Partner of the NWSL Playoffs and Championship, Pixel will be front-and-center when the competition reaches its peak, bringing fans closer to the action.”
